The UK MET Office are the proud new owners of a PufferSphere M 900, now on display at their head office in Exeter, UK. The PufferSphere M matched their requirements for a high brightness single source projection sphere, equally suited to permanent installation and touring for the outreach work the MET Office undertake. Empowering the MET Office’s meteorological visualizations team to take the raw inputs from their extensive global field data and translate them for display on the sphere, Pufferfish ensured that the display can be kept fresh and contemporary at all times. With visitors from around the world visiting the MET Office HQ in Exeter, the display has proved equally useful as a public engagement mechanism, displaying complex scientific data in an intuitive globe-shaped format.
