The heart of the Pufferfish mission is to introduce people to a different way of thinking about using video in public, to take conventional perceptions and expectations and turn them on their head. It is something which we strive to achieve in our work every day, so when an opportunity comes along to do something very special, we grab it with both hands.
Nothing says Christmas more than the annual office party, so we were happy to be able to add a bit of Puffer spirit to the recent Standard Life festive bash.
Oh so creative Pufferfish partners Satis&Fy AG deployed a PufferSphere XXL projection system with 4m diameter projection screen as a central feature of the impressive stage set for “Tristan and Isolde” by Richard Wagner at Ruhrtriennale 2011. In close cooperation with the Ruhrtriennale-team Satis&Fy developed a special flyware for horizontal installation of the PuffersSphere system. That made it possible to place the projector behind the sphere – totally invisible for the audience. Moreover that special flyware enabled the sphere to be moved in x/y axis across the complete stage set. Utilising a special “black” high contrast projection screen that had been custom-built for this production and with close attention to...
BBC Worldwide captured the sense of wonder and exploration behind their re-branded global channel, BBC Knowledge, by using the PufferSphere to create a bright sphere through which iconic and inspiring images from the world around us could be glimpsed. RedBee and Ampere took the PufferSpheres out on location, developing a creative narrative that saw the PufferSphere representing Knowledge – knowledge being a life-long journey. The sphere traveled by truck, crane, boat and lorry, before lighting up as a virtual ‘digital campfire’, around which crowds gathered to share and experience the world, under the channel tagline Wonder. Shared.
Romanian experiential marketing gurus Mercury 360 helped Grolsh get the ball rolling with a series of sponsored gigs in the capital Bucharest. Two 2m PufferSphere XL units were combined with edgy custom motion design and film footage to create an atmospheric brand presence at the gigs, now set to roll out across the region. A huge thanks to the team at Mercury 360 making it all happen at the drop of a hat.
Pufferfish are thrilled to be providing two PufferSphere XL displays to Sir Paul McCartney’s “Up and Coming” Tour. It’s probably unnecessary to say much more, save to wish Sir Paul and his tour team every success on the road!
Huge congratulations to Coldplay and XL Video for taking a hugely successful Arena Tour and stepping it up still further as they hit some of Europe's biggest stadiums. Lighting Director Paul Normandale introduced several new elements for these gargantuan performances, but old favorites and key talking points, the PufferSpheres, remained. The existing 6 Coldplay PufferSpheres were moved onstage where they were joined by a seventh unit, the second of two giant 3m PufferSphere XXL units which took up position stage left and right. The PufferSpheres were kept snug and dry by their ventilated lightweight weatherproofing, despite some famously inclement weather during the performances. Click on the image above for more...
